Lucius D. Hill papers, 1894-2001.

Primarily original correspondence and scrapbook pages documenting Hill's college career at the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn., and Vanderbilt Medical School; his early employment in Birmingham, Ala., and Kansas City, Mo.; his service as an Army physician during the Punitive Expedition into Mexico in 1916 and later in France during World War I; and his medical residency at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. There are also genealogical materials pertaining to the Hill, Carnes, Young, and other families, and to family members including Lucius D. Hill III, physician of Seattle, Wash.; William Davis Carnes, University of Tennessee president, 1858-1860; and Franklin Carlton Spears, Texas Supreme Court justice.
